FAQ

Q: Are classes open to everyone?
A: Yes! We have 2 streams of classes: member classes and non-member classes.  For our non-member classes we welcome all adult students (18 years and older). Our classes are designed to accommodate any fitness level.

Q: How do I become a member?
A: To become a member of the school contact us at info@reginataichi.com and you can enroll in our beginner classes which are held Wednesdays 6:30pm to 8pm September to May at the Knox Metropolitan Church.

Q: Where are the classes held?
A: Classes are held in the Knox Metropolitan Church gymnasium. The gym is on the second floor. You can access the gym from the Victoria Avenue entrance – 2340 Victoria Avenue.

Q: Why are there member and non-member classes?
A: Tai Chi and the internal martial arts can be practiced for general exercise and health but the martial arts aspect is also important. Member classes are designed for students who plan to take on a more in depth study of the internal martial arts and in particular Fu Style. To ensure that beginners and those who are not interested in such in depth study get the most out of their Tai Chi experience, we offer classes designed for people who want to try a different type of health and exercise regimen and we certainly welcome new members.

Q: What do I need to bring to the class?
A: All you need is some comfortable workout clothes (sweat pants and a t-shirt is perfect), clean flat soled indoor shoes and something to keep you hydrated.

Q: I’m not sure if Tai Chi is right for me. Can I try it first?
A: Absolutely! Tai Chi is a commitment to yourself and to get the most benefit you have to stick with it so we encourage students to try a few classes as a guest before making that commitment.

Q: Can I bring a friend?
A: The more the merrier! Bring as many friends as you like. We have a very large gym to work in so there is plenty of room.

Q: How much does it cost?
A: Our 6 week classes are held three times per year (Summer, Fall and Winter). The 6 week sessions cost $100 per person (discounts are available for families). Club members pay a monthly fee and attend classes all year round.

Q: Can I sign up for classes anytime?
A: Yes, Tai Chi is learned at an individual level, each day we cover basics which is the foundation of the forms. You are free to join at anytime and progress at your own speed.
